“Clear the Way”: The Irish Brigade
Few units in Civil War history are as famous as the Irish Brigade, a Union infantry brigade made up predominantly of Irish Americans.  The Irish Brigade fought in most of the major battles of the war’s eastern theater and had the third-highest number of brigade members killed in action of all Union brigades during the war.  As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, learn more about the fascinating and highly decorated Irish Brigade!  SPEAKER: Todd Arrington, James A. Garfield NHS.
