The Supreme Court: Earl Warren In-Person
REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM OPENS ON SEPTEMBER 28TH.
In the final lecture in his series on the history of the Supreme Court, Dr. John Foster of Mentor Public Library looks at the life and work of Earl Warren, who served as Chief Justice from 1953 until 1969. Formerly the Governor of California, and the only man ever to be nominated as a candidate for that office by both parties in the same year, Warren came in with the reputation of a conservative. He then caused the Nixon administration no end of annoyance by forging his own judicial path, especially on questions of criminal justice. Join us for a look at the career of one of court's great mavericks.
