The Supreme Court: Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. In-Person
REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM OPENS ON JUNE 27TH.
In the third lecture in his series, Dr. John Foster of Mentor Public Library looks at the life and work of Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., arguably the greatest justice ever to serve on the court. In his youth, as his would later note, his heart was touched with fire, as he served with distinction in the 20th Massachusetts Infantry during the Civil War. Later, he would write decisions that would shape the issue of free speech and coin the term "clear and present danger." Join us for the story of one of the great American lives.
