Leaders & Legacies of the Civil War: Mapping the Civil War In-Person

The Civil War ended over 150 years ago, but relics and artifacts are still being found and studied today.  This presentation will explore the methodology of historical archaeology and GIS mapping, and the ethical issues surrounding excavation of Civil War artifacts.  Best practices for those interested in “unearthing” the Civil War will also be discussed.
