Monarch Mania In-Person

Monarch butterflies make an annual trek from North America to the forests of Central Mexico to hibernate through the cold northern winters.  But they come back here every year to reproduce and feed on local milkweed!

Come to the Headlands Branch anytime in August or check out the library's Twitch stream online to learn more about the monarch lifecycle and see it in action!  We'll have live caterpillars at various life stages to view and learn about until they emerge from their chyrsalis and make their way to Mexico in the fall!
