John Wayne: American Hero (zoom)

John Wayne: American Hero (zoom) Online

REGISTRATION BEGINS MAY 4. Join one of our favorite presenters, Sal St. George returns to discuss the life and career of John Wayne. Marion Robert Morrison, known professionally as John Wayne and nicknamed The Duke, was an American actor and filmmaker who became a popular icon through his starring roles in films made during Hollywood's Golden Age, especially in Western and war movies.

For over three decades John Wayne was among the Top Ten most popular motion picture stars in the world. His classic motion pictures include such favorites as Stagecoach, Rio Bravo, The Quiet Man, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Shootist, and, of course, the film that earned The Duke his only Academy Award, True Grit.

Today we will review his career, professionally and personally, as well as watch various clips featuring John Wayne at his rootin’ tootin’ finest.

This program will be a live Zoom event. Details on how to join the meeting will be sent directly to registrants in an email at the time of registration. Please check your “Spam” folder if you do not see the email.
