Shipwrecks of Lake Erie: Fire, Storm, Collision

Shipwrecks of Lake Erie: Fire, Storm, Collision In-Person

Registration begins June 6. Lake Erie has perhaps the largest concentration of shipwrecks per square mile of any body of water in the world. From the 1700’s to the present, a variety of military and commercial vessels have been lost on her waters. The talk explores wreck types with their stories in chronological order. Presented by Georgann and Mike Wachter: authors, shipwreck hunters, divers, and researchers. They will have artifacts from their dives on display as well.

Library programs will be conducted in accordance with current state health and safety mandates/guidelines, which are subject to change. We encourage all attendees to observe these rules so that in-person programing may continue. We encourage masks at our programs and ask that family groups maintain social distance from other family groups. It is up to the individual to determine his or her level of comfort and acceptable risk when attending programs. If you are concerned about public gatherings, please do not attend.
