Phil Bova, Throwing Back the Chair: book talk & signing

Phil Bova, Throwing Back the Chair: book talk & signing In-Person

Nino Frostino is the author of Phil Bova's biography, Throwing Back the Chair.
Phil Bova was a Big Ten Basketball official for over 40 years, and was named to work the NCAA March Madness tournament an amazing 20 consecutive years. Also of note, Phil was a referee in the infamous game in 1985 when Bobby Knight threw the chair across the floor.

Throwing Back the Chair not only chronicles his life story, but gives the reader an inside view as an official. He also discusses the many, many funny stories that don't get reported in the newspaper. Further, Phil describes what it was like to work with iconic coaches like Bob Knight, Tom Izzo, Gene Keady and more. Phil speaks for 45 mins to an hour, answers questions, and then signs/personalizes books for those interested in purchasing.

Library programs will be conducted in accordance with current state health and safety mandates/guidelines, which are subject to change. We encourage all attendees to observe these rules so that in-person programing may continue. We encourage masks at our programs and ask that family groups maintain social distance from other family groups. It is up to the individual to determine his or her level of comfort and acceptable risk when attending programs. If you are concerned about public gatherings, please do not attend.
