Kill Da Wabbit: Opera in Pop Culture In-Person
REGISTRATION BEGINS SEPTEMBER 6. What do we think of when we hear the word Opera? Overly dramatic tales of love and death that go on forever (days on end in the case of Wagner’s Ring Cycle!), foreign languages that only old stuffy rich people seem to understand. Many of these negative feelings have been developed through popular culture’s presentation of opera. It is in popular culture, however, where we often first come into contact with one of the most exciting genres of music. Join the Cleveland Opera Theater as we explore the complex but entertaining relationship between our popular culture and opera. Please register in advance.
