The Vietnam War, 1963 - 1968: America's War In-Person
After the assassinations of Ngo Dinh Diem and John F. Kennedy in November 1963, the United States began a process of expanding its military presence in Vietnam. By the time of the Tet Offensive in January 1968, the war had become an American war with profound consequences for both the military in country and on the home front. Dr. John Foster of the Adult Information Services Department presents a public lecture on the history of these years and their decisive effect on the United States and the cold war.
