Leaders & Legacies of the Civil War In-Person

Wartime Christmas Music

The holidays are back!  Christmas songs and carols are one of everyone’s favorite holiday traditions, and that has been the case when the United States was at war—the Civil War, the world wars, and others.  Come join two of our staff’s most musically inclined staff members for a fun and educational sing-along exploring Christmas tunes from various wartime periods in American history!  You’ll learn not only the songs themselves, but also the origins of some of the most famous and beloved Christmas and holiday tunes.  Speakers:  Mary Lintern and Alan Gephardt, James A. Garfield NHS.

Library programs will be conducted in accordance with current state health and safety mandates/guidelines, which are subject to change. We encourage all attendees to observe these rules so that in-person programing may continue. We encourage masks at our programs and ask that family groups maintain social distance from other family groups. It is up to the individual to determine his or her level of comfort and acceptable risk when attending programs. If you are concerned about public gatherings, please do not attend.
