Gathering Moss Book Club (in person!)

Gathering Moss Book Club (in person!) In-Person

Calling all nature lovers, green thumbs and anyone else with an interest in talking about the beauty and mystery of the natural world.  Join us for a rich discussion of some of today's best nature titles.

Please be aware that this program will be in-person. We will meet at Morton Park in Mentor Headlands.

Another session of it will be held on June 4th at 6:30 pm on Zoom for those who can't make it or don't want to meet in person yet.

This month, we'll be discussing Buzz: The Nature & Necessity of Bees by Thor Hanson.

"From honeybees and bumbles to lesser-known diggers, miners, leafcutters, and masons, bees have long been central to our harvests, our mythologies, and our very existence. They've given us sweetness and light, the beauty of flowers, and as much as a third of the foodstuffs we eat. And, alarmingly, they are at risk of disappearing. As informative and enchanting as the waggle dance of a honeybee, Buzz shows us why all bees are wonders to celebrate and protect."

Library programs will be conducted in accordance with current health and safety mandates/guidelines which are subject to change.  We encourage all attendees to observe these rules so that in person programing may continue.  It is up to the individual to determine his or her level of comfort and acceptable risk when attending programs. If you are concerned about public gatherings, please do not attend.
