SHE Stories Online
Registration begins... March 16
Join us for evening of storytelling with Sara Showman. She Stories is a multicultural celebration of the wit, courage and determination shown by girls and women, every day, all over the world. We begin with a rollicking, rhythmic version of the '60s Dixie Cups call and response song Iko-Iko - but with a decidedly feminist theme! Then we travel to Africa for a "how come" story; this time, how come the sky is up so high? It's the ultimate "glass ceiling" story and a woman has the answer. Then, to China, where a brave young girl and her dog defend all the other girls in her village, not only from a dragon but from the man who would send them to their deaths. Finally, a fairy tale with a twist: a princess must save a sleeping beauty of a prince, with the help of other women she meets on her journey. "Once upon a time" will never be quite the same again.
Presentation by Sara Showman of the Largely Literary Theater Company.
