The Vietnam Wars: America Takes Over, 1956 - 1963 In-Person
In the third lecture in Dr. John Foster's The Vietnam Wars series, we will look at the period from the end of the French war in Indochina until the fall of Ngo Dinh Diem's government in November 1963. What were the steps in the growing U.S. involvement in the war? And how did this involvement change over the course of this period? The lecture will track the changes in Vietnam, from a regional struggle in the Cold War to a conflict that came to dominate American foreign policy and domestic affairs.
