The Last Lincoln Republican: The Presidential Election of 1880 Online
Todd Arrington from the James A. Garfield Memorial will join us to talk about his new book, The Last Lincoln Republican: The Presidential Election of 1880 (University Press of Kansas, 2020). The book examines the 1880 election between Republican James A. Garfield and Democrat Winfield Scott Hancock, which led to one of the closest popular vote victories in American history. Garfield won election by less than 10,000 votes of several million cast (though his Electoral College victory was much more substantial).
