Beekeeping: A Peek into Honeybee Hives

Beekeeping: A Peek into Honeybee Hives In-Person

BUZZ on over to the Headlands Branch on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discover the engrossing lives of a honeybees in this introduction to beekeeping with Jude Kraus from Hey Jude Honey. You won’t BEE disappointed! Registration is required.

The honeybee society is one of the most fascinating and complex social systems in nature. Their ability to work together, communicate, and adapt ensures the survival of their colony and their vital role in ecosystems. I am a fourth year beekeeper with a passion for my hobby. Every time I enter the hives, I learn more ways to be sure they are healthy and functioning. And, the honey I get in return is just the best! I will present the basics of the colony and share some of my experiences, including catching a swarm! –Jude Kraus
