The Korean War: Frozen Chosin In-Person
Registration for this program opens on June 13th.
Dr. John Foster of Mentor Public Library presents the second of his series of lectures on the history of the Korean War. Following the successful landings at Inchon, US Troops drove into North Korea. In late November, 1951, Chinese forces swept southward. The result was a battle epic proportions around the Chosin Reservoir. Heavily outnumbered, US forces gave battle in temperatures that reached -30 degrees. Although forced to retreat, the stubborn resistance of the 1st Marine Division wrote another impressive chapter in history of the Marine Corps.
