The Big IDEA Book Club

The Big IDEA Book Club Online

The Lake County League of Libraries, in conjunction with The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio, brings you a book club to discuss issues of inclusion, diversity, equity & access (IDEA).  Join us for a rich discussion of Disability Visibility, edited by Alice Wong, an anthology of essays from disability rights activists and people living with disabilities describing their lives and experiences.  The book comes as an extension of the Disability Visibility ProjectWe'll be discussing the book at length, as well as the many broader issues it addresses - and we want to hear from you!

This is like a regular book club, in that the whole purpose is to hear the voices of our community and share our perspectives to gain a new insight into issues that affect us all!

Registration is required and the discussion will take place on Zoom.

"A groundbreaking collection of first-person writing on the joys and challenges of the modern disability experience: Disability Visibility brings together the voices of activists, authors, lawyers, politicians, artists, and everyday people whose daily lives are, in the words of playwright Neil Marcus, 'an art…an ingenious way to live.'
